Welcome to the Blog of the UK DIMES Research Voyage 2013.
The voyage aims to measure the movement of a blob of chemical tracer which was released into the South Pacific Ocean in 2009 as it moves into the South Atlantic. We will also be measuring the temperature, salinity and other properties of the water as well as the strength of ocean currents and how turbulent the ocean is in the region.
Stay tuned for updates on how the voyage is progressing including photos and commentary on the science, geography and day to day life on the ship (targeted at a general audience).
